2011 Little Missouri River Flood

Update June 6, 2011

Thanks be to God, all our main buildings stayed high and dry. Staff and volunteers (including a church youth group from Evergreen Colorado) are working hard to have everything ready by June 12th. Our roads have been restored into camp, our tent platforms have been cleaned and made ready, and we are even mowing grass around the site again. We still have some infrastructure work to do, and will be cleaning up wood debris the river left behind for a while, but things are shaping up nicely. We look forward to our first week of on-site starting June 12th. Thanks again for your prayers and support!

On May 24th, Badlands Ministries felt the fury of waters just shy of the 100 year record. We thought our buildings were at 19 feet, but they are actually closer to 21 feet.... thanks be to God. For the past several days, teams of staff and volunteers have been working 12 hour shifts around the clock to man sump pumps and to remove water that is seeping in our church basement due to ground saturation. WE WILL HAVE CAMP ON SITE ON JUNE 12th. We will have a lot of clean up to do, and will need to rebuild some of our roads, but we will have camp as scheduled. Thanks for those who worked volunteer shifts at the site, and thank you for all you prayers. Please keep praying for the camp!
